some days last longer than others

turn the gentle spiral
you can find me left of center wondering about you

when i first started this blog, the very first song i used was roll into you by five times august. today i saw someone else mention him on her blog.

new hobby to the list of many people is blog-surfing. scary how we are connected to some people in ways we can't quite imagine? i once blog surfed onto the blog of someone i know (i guess you can call her a friend) by chance. i'm not a stalker, but i do admit to visiting her blog from time to time. because she has impeccable taste in music. and i kinda dig the playlist she puts up sometimes. her recommendations are quite cool, really. and i share her sentiment of how some songs just get overplayed and totally lose their magic.

i haven't seen her blog in quite a bit. but when i did so today, i saw five times august on her list. boy am i floored.

he is probably gaining grounds after some of his songs were featured on MTV's Laguna Beach.

another indie dream come true.
Awesome.

you do not know what makes you happy anymore. it is like you do not need for others to be any way to make you happy. maybe you are one of those who have learned not to expect anything from anyone because people always disappoint.
maybe you are one of those faithless

maybe you really somehow feel that they almost always disappoints.

just like how you almost always disappoint.

you forgot how to find your own happiness because you have grown accustomed to the feeling and the idea that your happiness is tied to that of others. and you know how they are never always happy, no matter what you do. so since when has others become so important? you've always thought you were a selfish being. that is until you realised you have lost the independence for happiness.

you need them to be happy just so that you could at least be at ease and at peace.

and you thought you have weathered enough to embrace sadness as another beautiful tune life sings to you. you really want to believe that you do feel that it is okay to be sad sometimes. but in reality, you are only ever so consumed by the romantic notion of happily-ever afters in life's short stories.

and when vienna sings softly "you need not to need", you are brought back to the time when you sat on the bench as an unexpected and unwelcomed one looks upon you and whispered, "are you sad?"
